Getting to Wuerzburg (Wurzburg) by Air

Würzburg is not served by an airport. However, if you fly into Frankfurt, Nuremberg or Munich, the Deutsche Bahn can get you anywhere that's worth going. Get on an ICE train, which will take you an hour until you reach the Wuerzburger Hauptbahnhof, from Munich the train ride is about 3 hours.

Many visitors choose to fly into one of Germany’s major airports, and then commute further to the city of Wuerzburg. The three most convenient airports for travelling to Wuerzburg are located in Nuernberg, Stuttgart and Frankfurt.

The Nuernberg International Airport is East of Wuerzburg about 110 km. Daily flights to and from  Stansted with www.Airberlin.de You can also fly to  many holiday destinations with other airlines from here. Take the S Bahn to the main station, and from there you can travel to Wuerzburg. Or take advantage of the car hire companies that operate in the airport. 

The Stuttgart International Airport is located around 150 km west of Wurzburg, and is moderate in size. Daily flights from a good number of domestic and European cities arrive at this airport. There is a train connection available to Wurzburg. There are numerous car rental companies based around Stuttgart airport.

The Frankfurt International Airport is the largest airport in Germany, and is located a little over 100 km northwest of Wurzburg. A train route is available to Wurzburg from this airport. There are numerous car rental companies based around Frankfurt airport.
